About Antique Furniture
I need to move some furniture from St. Paul to Seattle...?
I have some antique furniture that needs to be moved from MN to Seattle. There are about 7 pieces including a tall headboard /full size bed, a couple trunks and a couple dressers. Basically a bedroom set + a few other pieces. How can I get them from point A to point B without spending a ton of money? The time it takes to get here isn't important. Its just that I am in Seattle and my stuff is in MN. My original thought was to fly out and rent a uhaul to drive it back. With the fuel cost skyrocketing, I just don't have the time or money. The people storing my stuff are kind of at the end of their rope patience wise. HELP! 
Since it's antique furniture, and you don't have the time or the money to do it yourself, then you just need to hire a professional. Don't put these pieces into just any kind of trailer, because they bounce around too much. Make sure the trailer or truck has air ride. If the furniture is not that sentimental to you, then sell them there in Minnesota and pocket the money.
If you are stuck doing it yourself, look into taking a train or a bus out to St. Paul. They are a lot cheaper than flying. You can also look into different options of what truck to rent. Not only is there U-haul, there is also Penske.
how to do a black antique finish on furniture?
How do I go about achieving that black rubbed/antiqued look on a previously unpainted dresser. Do I use a stain or paint. I want the edges to look rubbed off or roughed up a bit. I don't think I want it jet black, just very dark it almost looks black. The look I have in mind is inspired by pottery barn and hobby lobby. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
