The white ironstone body has a soft filligree boarder, and dresses up or down for any entertaining situation. This complete set is a service for eight, including eight dinner plates, salad plates, rim soup plates, teacups and saucers. It also contains one each 12" round platter, round vegetable bowl, covered sugar bowl, and cream pitcher.

Mikasa combines pleasing texture with a solid white finish to create an enduring classic, Italian Countryside dinnerware. Made of hard-wearing ironstone for everyday use, the dinnerware also exudes enough panache to serve brunch or dinner for a more formal gathering. Fine ribbing accentuates the plate borders, as well as the sides of the sugar bowl, creamer, and teacup, while a scrolling, bas-relief garland decoratively bands rims and edges. Glossy and handsome, Italian Countryside makes a fine gift, especially in this all-inclusive 45-piece set. A pattern of three raised ridges and scalloped rims graces each piece with subtle texture, except for the teacup rim, which is smooth. The plates show a substantially raised border, making them deeper than many plates. The rimmed bowl generously holds cereal, soup, or salad, while the teacup is perfect for morning coffee, with or without the matching saucer. A classic colonial-style pattern in stately white, Mikasa's Antique White goes with any décor and is a perfect choice for the hostess who likes to use different colored linens and centerpieces for each holiday or celebration. This large double-handled tureen holds enough seafood soup or stew to feed a party of six and has a lid to keep food's heat from escaping during serving time. Made of fine china that has been fired at high temperatures, this ivory tureen is slightly scalloped and has a double-ridged edge that is reminiscent of heirloom china. The lid has an oval finial with squared-off ends and a semi-circular hole on one side to accommodate the handle of a ladle.
