teen room redecorating ideas help?
ok so im redecorating my bedroom, and im 13. i dont really know wut 2 do....my style is sorta vintage-ish and my room isnt very big. my fave colors are purple and lime green (does brown match with those?) I would like the furniture to b white. oh and i loovvvvve little room accessories like bowls with floating candles, wooden wall hangings, clocks, etc. oh and by bed is twin size. I know pbteen has good stuff, but theyre crazyyy expensive. new sites wld b helpful. thxx!!
Believe it or not, Walmart and Target. They have cute bedding for under $50, nice lamps and accessories. Sometimes things don't ALWAYS have to be name brand to look great.
Reviving Old Furniture For a Second Life

Freshen with New Fabric
Sometimes all a piece of furniture needs to bring it up to date is new fabric. Frequently upholstery can become dingy and worn, or the print may just go out of style. Color trends change, and what is stylish this year will certainly look dated in a few years. So you can sometimes revive a piece of older furniture by simply recovering it. Changing the fabric on a piece of furniture may be as simple as recovering a chair cushion, adding a slipcover or it may be a little more technical like reupholstering the entire piece. You can recover your furniture yourself, or you may choose to have a professional do it for you. If you choose to do it yourself, you can find patterns and instructions at your local library as well as by browsing online.
Refinish or Repairing
If you are working with a piece of wooden furniture, you are probably working with a surface that is less than perfect. You can fill divots with wood putty before painting, or you can embrace the distressed look of the piece. Sometimes the patina that age gives to a piece of furniture just makes it that much more interesting to look at. However, when you are re-purposing a piece of furniture, your imagination really is the only thing holding you back. For example, you can take a simple, little dresser that is being kicked aside and turn it into an eye-catching vanity for your bathroom.
Just Rearrange
Sometimes you do not need to do anything to your piece of furniture other that relocate it. If you have an old dresser in your bedroom that you are no longer using, why not re-purpose it as a buffet in your dining room. Not only will it look great, but it will also add storage and function to your dining room. And, if you have a mismatched chair in your dining room, why not bring it into the bedroom and use it at your vanity table. You can also use old dining room chair to make interesting side tables for your bed. They can add symmetry and interest to your bedroom space, especially if you do not have a headboard.
